Hola! Coucou! My name is Lara and I am a French and Spanish tutor since 2020. Spanish is my native language and I am fluent in French and English, and I'm currently based in Australia. I come from Spain and I started traveling a few years ago, which enabled me to learn French as well as English to almost a native speaker level. I travel frequently as I love discovering new countries and cultures and meeting people from all over the world. For this reason, I started teaching Spanish, English and French online and this is what I enjoy the most!
In my free time, I am a big fan of nature, diving, wildlife, and also reading, watching films.我的教學經歷
What makes me an ideal teacher is that I have experienced the language learning process many times before (I learned French, English, Italian, Galician and German!) and at the same time I own the cultural and specific knowledge of someone who lived in the actual country. I have experience tutoring at schools in the UK and Australia to support students with their spoken skills, and I have worked at a language school with adults. Currently, I am teaching 10 students weekly, and they have been attending classes with me for a while now. I have helped many students so far to reach fluency and be confident when speaking, so if this you find this challenging, I'm the right teacher for you!我的課程內容與教學風格
I follow a communicative approach, that means, the purpose of all activities is ultimately to be able to communicate in a particular situation or context: essentially speaking, speaking and speaking!
I follow a manual to cover all topics and from there, we revise vocabulary and grammar, and do roleplays, debate, conversation and more activities to get you in a real communicative context like ordering food at a restaurant, going to the doctor, expressing your thoughts on a video or an article. I like to use videos, podcasts, songs and articles to keep the language authentic and I generally use these materials as a point of depart to then discuss about them. Lara was great! Super friendly and easy to talk to. I always feel stupid when I try to speak Spanish, but she made me feel comfortable enough to do the entire lesson in Spanish. She was patient and encouraging and paused to answer my many questions. Highly recommended.
