Vandana D

Vandana is my third Hindi tutor that I've tried (between Preply and Italki), and is the best by far. If you're looking for a real teacher, who knows grammar, sentence structure, and can explain why Hindi grammar is the way it is, she's the right fit! She has true teaching credentials (not just some easy online certifications that the vast majority of the tutors on these platforms have), and knows how to teach, not just talk for practice. I recommend her for anyone who wants to learn Hindi in a structured way, from a TEACHER, not just from a native Hindi speaker.

After trying several different teachers over the last few years, I have never felt my Hindi improve as fast as with Vandana. I will be sticking with her long-term. She is warm, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. She knows how to design activities that address my specific problem areas, and she integrates our serious grammar study with our more casual conversations, so that I actually have a chance to apply the concepts I'm learning. My Hindi is much weaker in some areas than others, and a standard curriculum is not always the best approach. But Vandana always knows when I need a formal lesson, when a translation activity will do, and when I'm just forgetting to apply something I already know. Where other teachers have either insisted on perfect textbook Hindi or excused serious errors because my Hindi is "good enough," Vandana finds a perfect balance.

Vandana is a wonderful teacher. She patiently guides me through multiple grammatical concepts and vocabulary. She also organizes her class well to focus on 1 topic so that you're not overwhelmed. Vandana comes prepared to classes, and her role-playing exercises have helped me feel more confident speaking in Hindi in just a few weeks.

I've been having a great experience learning Hindi with Vandana! I came in knowing no Hindi at all, and she has been very patient and helpful in teaching me the alphabet, vocabulary, and grammar. The lessons are challenging and engaging, and I like how she builds up the grammar topics one at a time. I'm looking forward to continuing with her and would highly recommend!

I have been working with Vandana Ji for about a month now, and I am enjoying learning Hindi more and making quicker progress than I ever have before. I've tried just about everything to learn Hindi on and off for the last 5 years - books, podcasts, group classes, apps, etc. - and I've never found something with the right level of accountability, structure, and pace, until now. I'm so grateful to Vandana Ji for helping me get past the rut I've been in for far too long, and for her patience and encouragement that help me keep going when it get's hard.
