Hi! I am Dominik, I am a native German speaker from Berlin & have been teaching German informally for a few years now. I teach mostly via simple, comprehensible conversations.
I have an interest in language learning, philosophy & history, and I really enjoy meeting new people and talking about interesting topics around culture (but we can speak about pretty much anything that you find interesting).
I currently also live in Berlin. Before that, I have spent a few years in London & Damascus. Whenever I have some free time, I try to read a lot of philosophy & literature. I have also studied Arabic & French for some time (but I forgot a lot & need to get back into those at some point). :)
我的教學經歷
I like to teach German through interesting conversations & dialogues. So, instead of going through grammar topics & speaking a lot of English, I will try to stick to mostly speaking German with you and I encourage you to speak and use as much German as possible as well. I might speak more slowly or explain words to you, but I will stick to German and only speak English if it's absolutely necessary. :)
I am also by the way very happy to practice specific situations with you (buying a ticket at the train station, having a political discussion). Just let me know what you're looking to practice.
我的課程內容與教學風格
I believe that it's important for learners to get used to the language they're learning: I am a big fan of Stephen Krashen's approach to language learning, that is, learning a new language with "comprehensible input".
This is why I will try to get you to speak a lot, and have real conversations with you. I do not teach absolute beginners & I don't do grammar lessons - although we can talk also about grammatical points should they come up. I try to avoid speaking in English, but if you really do not understand something I am also happy to switch to English once in a while. :)
