Hi!
I'm Eni Tamang, a native Nepali speaker. I have a solid foundation in Nepali, both academically and non-academically. Even though I graduated with an M.A. and a 1-year diploma in Education majoring in English, I'm still learning English, focusing on speaking skills by interacting globally since 2021. I help English learners as a volunteer online tutor. Besides, I'm also fluent in Hindi/Urdu. I have experience teaching English in Nepal for more than 10 years. Since I worked in a government school for 4 years in rural hills, I had to use the Nepali language to help students learn English because they were poor in English. Hence, Nepali always came first in my teaching-learning journey.我的教學經歷
Teaching has been my profession since I began building my career. With over 10 years of offline experience and two years of online, I've grown in my role. While learning a language is often considered challenging, I believe it can be enjoyable with the right teacher, making the process much easier. I assure you that I can help you learn Nepali in a simple and fun way.
Being a learner myself, I understand the importance of pronouncing words correctly and being easily understood. It's common to feel embarrassed when making mistakes, but I encourage you to stay motivated and continue learning the language. The secret to mastering any language is persistence.我的課程內容與教學風格
Definitely, one teaching method might not work for all learners. So, I gear towards the students' demands. Whether they want to have a conversation with me or a formal lesson, it's up to them. So, my teaching strategy is flexible.
I focus on student-centered teaching methods because, technically, it's the best-proven method for fast student learning. I believe that learning should be fun, and hence, I can use diverse materials like songs, stories, TV series, pictures, flashcards, and quizzes according to the situation. My students can choose what they are interested in.我的教材

Didi is an amazing teacher she is always welcoming and polite, she understands that I am a slow learner and because of my dyslexia it can take me longer to learn concepts.
she is always helpful and willing to go the extra mile for me and is happy with whatever progress I can make, and is always willing to work around my busy schedule as a pharmacist.
we have the best conversations during class and she has become one of my closest friends. I have been working with didi for 4 months now and can speak about my generic day at conversational level in Nepali. I have even impressed some of my Nepali colleagues in the hospital!!

Today was my Nepali lesson #28 with Eni-Guru. When we started a few weeks ago, I could not speak. She spoke to me in Nepali, explaining everything in Hindi whenever I signalled lack of understanding.
During our first five lessons, I was just listening to her speaking Nepali, tuning my brain into the frequency of the language. Then, I started to put some words together.
Now, we communicate entirely in Nepali, even though I still need much time to put words and grammar bits together to make my sentences. It's slow, but basically it seems to work.
And this was exactly the purpose of this "Nepali intensive month", namely to break the barrier between the gaze at written words and real life spoken communication.

just casually sat chatting in Nepali tonight with eni about our lives.
I'm so happy with how far I have come with eni in just a few months. I still get things wrong but eni gives me the tools to chat in Nepali and makes every lesson a joy. I had a lunch with the guys I am going to nepal with today and they were asking me how to say things in Nepali and I got to impress them.
eni also teaches me about nepal as a country and all about the culture there. 10/10

Spending time with Eni didi is like spending time with a big sister :) And she really knows how to explain things well, I always leave our classes with new vocabulary I can use/more readily comprehend. Always looking forward to our meetings :)
