Hello, I'm Sorcha and I am a highly experienced, enthusiastic, and friendly English Tutor from the UK who specialises in guiding my students to communicate confidently and with clarity.
I have a first-class masters degree from UCL and a bachelors degree in Journalism, allowing me the ability to teach exceptional communication skills and the to present complex ideas clearly. I also have five years of diverse ESL experience, including teaching children in Bangkok, educating refugees arriving in the UK, to lots and lots of 1-1 online English lessons!
I teach conversational classes where I create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, but also specialise in academic coaching.我的教學經歷
Why are my lessons special?

✔️ I am deeply interested in the psychology of learning and enjoy incorporating new developments in education into my lessons
✔️ For conversation classes, I like to incorporate topical issues and short articles/activities that interest you, keep lessons engaging, and immerse you into the language
✔️For writing lessons, I integrate complex and real-world academic challenges into my lessons, such as analysing texts, developing arguments, conducting research, and finding your own unique voice, helping students develop critical thinking skills and improve academic writing我的課程內容與教學風格
The most important thing to know is that I create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in my lessons so you are not scared to make mistakes. Mistakes are how we learn!
During our first lesson, we will get to know each other and discuss your goals so I can create a personalised learning plan. I like structure, even with conversation classes, so I create bespoke lessons that use a variety of engaging materials, including news articles, short videos, games, and other activities.
My lessons are highly adapted to each student, making sure we work together to boost your confidence, improve fluency, and reach your goals.我的教材
