My mother was a wanderer, so we transferred from one place to another. I had to learn different dialects as fast as I could because if I didn't, I would not belong, or I would feel lost. This is the reason why I can relate to students who need to learn a new language. I can very well teach them how to adapt to the language, and become proficient at it. I love Korean dramas, Korean food, and the culture. I am trying to learn Korean, so I can finally enjoy the aesthetics of Korean dramas and movies without reading the subtitles.
I am a licensed teacher in the Philippines. I have been teaching English and Filipino for two decades now.
我的教學經歷
I have tried different methods in teaching such as traditional, Montessori, TAP (Teacher-Assisted Program) and DAP (Development Appropriate Practice). These except for traditional teaching are student-centered programs that cater to the individual needs of the students. Therefore, before I teach a student, I look for the needs first, and craft lessons to address the needs of each student.
我的課程內容與教學風格
I usually start the lesson with a motivation. Doing so will catch the interest or get the attention of the learner. I keep the learner engaged by crafting visual and audio presentations. I teach in a lively manner coupled with a smile. At the end of the lesson, I ask the student to recapitulate or summarize what she/he has learned in the session. I also give homework, so the learner can review the lessons, and test if he has fully grasped the concept/lesson.
