Hi, my name is Doug. I’m an American from Chicago in the United States. I love getting to know new people from different cultures. That is my favorite part about teaching English to people. That’s why I love teaching English to people from countries all over the world. I have many hobbies. Travel is probably my favorite thing to do. I love hearing about where other people have traveled, as well as their other hobbies. I also love movies and exercise.我的教學經歷
I have nearly 10 years of experience teaching English, as well as significant experience with non-English speakers in general. I taught English in the USA for one year, Spain for one year, and now in Colombia since 2016. I am also certified by Cambridge University to teach English (CELTA).我的課程內容與教學風格
My classes on iTalki are focused on improving fluency and conversation skills. For this reason, my discussion-based classes are appropriate for learners of all levels of English.
My teaching strategy is to engage in discussions that make you think and speak about a variety of deep topics. Ultimately, you are studying English in order to form real relationships. For that reason, it is important for you to move beyond the basics, and push yourself to speak about more advanced topics.我的教材

CELTA - Cambridge English Language Assessment - 2016CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) is a teacher training qualification for teaching English as a second or foreign language (ESL and EFL). It is provided by Cambridge English Language Assessment through authorised Cambridge English Teaching Qualification centres. I earned this qualification in January 2016.

Doug is an excellent teacher who quickly identified and corrected mistakes in my pronunciation and expression. His experience was evident in his ability to pinpoint common errors I make.
