I moved to Madrid from England with my partner in 2018 to enjoy a new way of life and to experience Spanish culture and society. I am TEFL qualified and have over 5 years experience teaching adults in one-to-one classes and small groups, specialising in people who work in the arts and culture sectors.
For around 20 years before that I was a Museum Curator in Sheffield. I am passionate about anything to do with archaeology and heritage, so love to visit museums and historic places.
I'm also a keen football fan and enjoy Zumba classes, cycling in the parks and walking in the mountains that surround Madrid. My partner and I are keen players of board games and regularly play with our friends.我的教學經歷
Please be aware that I only teach adults.
My style is a mixture of general conversation with some structured practice based on the learner's needs and with clear outcomes in mind. I am keen that students do as much speaking practice as possible, as this is the hardest part to gain confidence in. I have a fairly neutral accent, so am able to correct pronunciation accurately.
I know students want to improve their functional English, so the lessons will always be based on real-world scenarios, genuine articles or videos that are relevant to you. My aim is that you will always be learning vocabulary, phrases and grammar that are of use in the world.我的課程內容與教學風格
I can offer a variety of lessons to suit you. You may just want general conversation about current affairs or your favourite hobby. If you want to improve your General English, we can focus on a topic or area of language or grammar that you'd like to work on.
For Business English, I can help you with presentations, report writing, performing well in job applications and interviews, contributing to meetings or making small talk with your colleagues.
As I have specialist experience in the fields of museums, history, archaeology and the arts, I can be of real use to professionals or students in these sectors, where the language is very specific and the job market is highly competitive.5.0
