Hi there! Chandra here. Did you like my video and want to know how I put it together? Send me a message and I’ll let you know more. I'm from Australia, but I've been living overseas for many years. I'm a pretty easy going sort of fellow. I like to approach life in a light hearted way and don't like to take things too seriously, unless they are truely important. Important things that I really value are love, friendship, family, health, happiness, freedom and truth.  I’m a bit of a hobby linguist—I love learning and teaching languages. Aside from this my interests include; health & fitness, yoga, martial arts, classical and world music, vegetarian cooking, philosophy and spirituality.

我的教學經歷

I try to keep classes playful and interesting.I believe we are learning best when we are having fun.   I believe language is a skill, not knowledge. I believe that emphasis on communication over trying to understand structure is the quickest way to acquire language. When something is relevant to us, it sticks. When we hear words and understand the gist of the message because of context, our brain puts it all together for us. Having said that, I do love to get into the nitty-gritty of grammar, so for all those technocrats out there—you won’t be disappointed. The best thing I bring to the table, however, is a sincere desire and commitment to helping my students reach their potential.

我的課程內容與教學風格

I like to spend some time getting to know my students and their level so that I can identify their challenges. I have ample resources at my disposal and do my best tailor them to a students particular needs. In my classes you can expect a lot of conversational practise, repetition and mimicking (for beginners), role play and coaching on specific language learning strategies that you can apply outside of the lessons. For Bengali students in particular, I have a lot of resources—some of which I have developed myself—so you can expect all sorts of goodies between lessons!

I've been taking lessons for a while with Chandra now. I can highly recommend him to anyone who has an interest in learning Bengali. His lessons are fun and I always feel like i'm progressing. Chandra has provided many homework tasks which complement the lessons and tasks with techniques to help immerse in the language.
