Hello everyone! My name is John Kelly from California in the United States. I have lived in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam for the last 6 years and really enjoy my life here.
I received my bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego in 2007 and then began my career in the banking industry, where I worked for some of the world's largest financial institutions, including J.P. Morgan and Wells Fargo Bank. While I enjoyed a certain level of success in the banking industry, my calling was to travel and live abroad and that is what brought me to Vietnam.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy exercising, meditating and reading books on personal development.我的教學經歷
I’m a former IELTS Examiner with IDP and have over 8 years of academic language teaching experience, both in the classroom and online. My focus has been solely on preparing students for the difficult IELTS exam. I’ve worked with students of all levels from all over the world, and I understand exactly what it takes to help you achieve your goals.我的課程內容與教學風格
Each of our sessions will be focused on your weaknesses. You will have the option of booking individual sessions or going with a more structured approach.
If you choose the structured option, I will provide you with writing structures that have been proven to help hundreds of students achieve band 7 and above. In addition, we will have many options for mock speaking tests, where I will provide you with specific feedback on each of the four marking criteria.
We will also have opportunities to discuss listening and reading as well.

IELTS Trainer• Taught classes that focused on preparing students for the speaking and listening parts of
the IELTS exam.
• Created daily lesson plans to ensure efficient and effective delivery of assigned material.
• Worked closely with students and gave adequate feedback to ensure that they were
progressing and remained satisfied with their instruction at RES.
• Worked closely with senior instructors and attended workshops to ensure my personal
development as a teacher.
2015 - 2016
Associate Lecturer• Taught classes that focused on preparing students for all four parts of the IELTS exam.
• Created daily lesson plans to ensure efficient and effective delivery of assigned material.
• Guided students through various research projects that were geared toward teaching
students the importance of research and teamwork.
• Assigned and graded writing assignments that were geared toward preparing students for
tasks 1 and 2 of the IELTS writing exam.

IELTS TrainerAs an Online IELTS Trainer, my responsibilities included conducting mock speaking exams and providing detailed feedback on essays for both Writing Task 1 and Writing Task 2.
