FALL UPDATES: OPENINGS FOR A SMALL GROUP (INTERMEDIATE-ADVANCED)
I learned Swedish as a kid while I lived in Sweden as an exchange student for a few years. I absorbed every bit of the culture, polished the accent so my peers could never tell I was not originally Swedish. I enjoyed the process so much that I went on to teach others how to develop a feel for the language.

In my small group classes, I aim to create a dynamic and engaging environment where learning Swedish feels like a natural part of conversation, rather than a formal classroom setting. We’ll dive into real-life situations to practice speaking, and you’ll get plenty of opportunities to build vocabulary. I believe in balancing structured language mechanics—listening, reading, writing, and speaking—with interactive and fun activities like podcasts, video analysis, and discussions. Each class is designed to be both personalized and group-oriented, making sure everyone gets plenty of practice. Ivan is a very flexible and pragmatic teacher. The lessons with Ivan are the most efficient language lessons I have ever had. In the first lesson, he measures your level and subtly notices all your strengths and weaknesses. And then he tunes lessons accordingly to your gaps in language knowledge. Highly recommend Ivan as a teacher, just trust him and you will achieve whatever goals you want in language learning.

I have an extensive experience with private lessons as a student, and I can tell without hesitation that Ivan is a very talented teacher who meets my needs and helps very much for fast moving ahead with “Svenska.” The best teacher for Swedish. He is very attentive and empathic to his students. I can highly recommend him for Swedish lessons for adults and teenagers. My son and I enjoy our classes very much!

Very good! After several lessons in which we talked about pretty much everything, Ivan found and sent a video that dealt with both our professional expertises. He then made a set of flashcards with the more difficult words or phrases and sent me this accompanied by a quiz. Good and fun to learn this way, and interesting conversation using the new words afterwards.
