Hi, Hola, 你好,
I am Ya-Chien(亞蒨) from Taipei, Taiwan, you can call me Alicia. I am an explorer of life who likes to learn and create. I feel enthusiastic and enjoy every process of teaching Chinese.
Through the experience of traveling as a backpacker for many years, I’ve been to more than 20 countries. Not just trying to understand different cultures, but also learning how to communicate and get along with people. I have shared my culture and taught Chinese to more than one hundred foreign students. I am also happy to share my travel experience, the journey of practicing yoga and meditation, the lifestyle of vegetarian. I'm also a frame drummer who likes to share music and celebrate life :)我的教學經歷
Currently I am living in Bogota, Colombia. By knowing the difference between Spanish, English, and Chinese, I always guide my students to try to think as a native speaker, to truly understand it by heart, instead of only try to translate literally.
Mandarin has become one of the most important and widely used languages in the world. In my class I will use an interesting and relaxed way to help you with pronunciation, listening and grammar. The key point is that you can practice conversation with all kind of themes you are interested in, meanwhile appreciate a different culture.我的課程內容與教學風格
Remember: repeat, repeat and repeat until you have it fluent and natural! I will build your confidence for mandarin and maintain your passion of learning. I could also help you in HSK tests; business, interviews or travel vocabulary.
Just like a friend, learning a language you need to spend time with it, listen to it. Be patient with yourself I am sure that it will come. I will train your imagination and creativity to guess Chinese vocabulary! Welcome to the fantastic journey, I will guide you to the new world of mandarin!5.0

Great Lessons! Alicia always comes to class with an uplifting and enthusiastic attitude. She is well prepared and provides the right material that best suits my specific goals. I am greatly impressed at how quickly Alicia was able to pick up on my level of Chinese and instinctively speak back to me at a level that I can understand. In class, we have engaging and interesting conversations, while still saving time to focus on grammar, vocabulary, etc. Most importantly, Alicia is a caring teacher who is genuinely passionate about teaching Chinese and keeps her student's best interests in mind.
