Hi ! 👋 I teach French, starting in a Spanish university south of Barcelona, with 120 students in 2017, and now teaching people of all ages and from 50+ countries. ✅
I have studied int'l finance and psychology at McGill university and I’ve lived in Hungary, Monaco, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Antigua and Barbuda... 🌎 I have a strong background in business and finance, working full-time as a commodities trader since January 2000.
I like to have an interesting life. ⭐ I have completed yacht design courses & raised horses, organized a convention in Mexico & built my own house over a period of 10 years, skydived once & hiked in Spain often, and ventured into Bosnia, Thailand, Panama... ⭐

🟢 I scored C2 on the Oxford English Test in 2024, so explanations in English are clear and accurate.
Learning a language takes time—I know! I’ve studied the basics of 8 languages while traveling.
I understand how frustrating it can be, and I’ll guide you with empathy and proven strategies.

Most students can find lots of resources online, and do exercises and write texts, etc. but what is often missing is having interactions in French. Therefore, in order to assist learners and allow them to practice and build their confidence, I also host weekly group Zoom sessions, at a rate of 4 to 5 per week. 🌍
🚫 I don’t teach French to teenagers or kids (17 and under).
📌 Starting May 1, 2025, my fees will change for the following:
🟢 30-min: $17 USD
🟢 45-min: $20 USD
🟢 60-min: $23 USD

En anglais: Francois is an exceptional, superlative instructor who enjoys generously sharing his love and knowledge of the French language. He is incredibly patient, insightful, motivating, flexible, has a wonderful sense of humor, and intuitively understands and anticipates what the student needs to progress and improve. One of his many excellent methodologies is to empower the student to 'find another word' when a 'bloguer' (block) occurs so that learning, (although challenging) takes place in a comfortable and engaging manner. His group lessons are an extraordinary mix of fun, delightful cognitive exercises, interesting memorization techniques, and tons of sharing and learning French.
