Hello everyone, I’m Miki. I was born in Tokyo and raised in Chiba. In 2018, I moved to Taiwan to teach Japanese.
I studied Korean in Seoul, South Korea for one year and currently I teach myself Chinese. I deeply understand how challenging it is to learn a new language and maintain it!

こんにちは。私はみきです。東京で生まれて千葉で育ちました。2018年から日本語を教えるために台湾に住んでいます。
趣味は運動、読書、音楽、料理、旅行などです。中でも旅行が1番好きで、今までおよそ20カ国へ行きました。
以前に韓国で1年間韓国語を勉強していました。今は独学で中国語を勉強しています。外国語を学ぶことやレベルを保つことがどれほど難しいことで、また同時にどれほどやりがいがあることなのかをとてもよく知っています。我的教學經歷
I am certified to teach Japanese and currently teach at a language school in Taiwan and for private students. I teach general Japanese, business Japanese as well as exam preparation for JLPT, to students from various backgrounds. Some of my students started to learn with me from Hiragana, the most basic letters in this language, and some others are advanced learners who are required to use Japanese for their jobs.

My lessons for YOU will be interactive, educational and fun. I will always bring topics and connect with you on your language level in JAPANESE, not in other languages. You may be surprised to know how much you already have to communicate with Japanese people.

Miki sensei was super nice! She spoke only in Japanese, which helped me refresh my memory. We had conversations, read some text and did a listening exercise too! For a trial lesson, I have to say that it was more fun than I expected :))

To prepare for my upcoming trip to Japan, I searched a long time on italki for Japanese tutors and ended up picking Miki Sensei and I’m so glad I did! With only limited time to prepare, I only had 14 lessons to get me ready. Miki Sensei was absolutely amazing and immediately switched up the lessons to fit my needs. We practised a lot of vocabulary, sentences, and scenarios that I would likely encounter in Japan. Whenever I had more specific questions on a topic or a grammar point, Miki Sensei explained these really well too, so that was great! I quickly spoke way more Japanese than I had expected to and gained a lot of confidence and am now looking forward to the trip, feeling ready & happy knowing that I will get more out of it than if I could only speak English.
PS.If you know some Korean already, definitely pick Miki Sensei! It was so nice being able to ask questions on similarities and Miki Sensei pointed out a lot of things that helped me understand&remember things more quickly!

I had my first lesson with Miki today. Miki is really very sweet and conversation is very easy with her. Miki laughs easily and so I can see that we can have lots of good conversation in good humor. It's wonderful that she also speaks Chinese, as I do. Although I am a native English speaker, on iTalki, I always look for teachers to have two other languages in common with me, so that even if something can't be described easily in the target language, we can refer to this third language, rather than falling back on English, which can be detrimental to picking up the target language. I look forward to having many more lessons with this charming, intelligent, fun-loving Japanese native. Thanks so much, Miki san!
