I have 17 years teaching experience - in the classroom and online - and 20 in Tourism/Visitor Management. I love travel and the outdoors - especially walking, nature, the coast and countryside.
I've also lived in London and overseas, and love exploring towns, cities and culture, both locally & further afield, including with family in Hong Kong & The Netherlands.
Meeting and teaching students from around the world and learning about your country, culture, customs and language story too is a real joy for me :-)

I'm patient, friendly and flexible and want you to feel relaxed and enjoy our lessons. I value getting to know students as individuals. I’m a highly experienced TEFL qualified online teacher and former classroom teacher.
I like to understand why you're learning English, what your approximate current level is, and how I can best support you to cover your learning priorities and achieve your goals.
I will happily offer regular and positive, but honest feedback as we go !

I like to work in ways which support your learning best through eg conversation, using materials to read/discuss to extend your vocabulary and strengthen your sentence construction, or specific activities to support your grammar. Learning (and teaching!) should be interesting and fun :-)
We can agree your preferred ways of learning and focus together.
I have many long term, regular students, but new students are welcome too!

I had a very interesting lesson with Annette - she was perfectly prepared (as always) and she was leading me through a very complicated subject I proposed :) these lessons really help me at work and with me studies!

I was not used to oet role-play before her class but she encouraged me to act like real so that I could practice more like real. She helped me paraphrase sentences in a more native way. It was helpful to get used to British accent, too.
