Hey, how’s it going? My name is Carla, and I’m a native Brazilian Portuguese tutor here on italki, in addition to being a lawyer in Brazil! I was also a writing tutor and a law tutor during college, so teaching and working with the Portuguese language are not new to me. I was an exchange student in Canada, speak English, understand a little Spanish, and am currently focused on French, since I live in France. I was also a beginner in German, and I understand the process of learning a new language, which is why I can help you best. Besides languages, I love music, cooking, cultures, politics, history, economics, books, and podcasts—I enjoy learning a little bit about everything!我的教學經歷
I have students from all over the world, and I’ve also met people with a wide range of interests here on italki. Therefore, I understand that each student has their own way of learning languages, as I have mine (which even changes depending on the language!). I think it's important to adapt and offer exactly what you're looking for. I’m adaptable to your needs! Also, since I currently work only as a tutor, I’m very flexible with my schedule and can easily accommodate your preferred times. Well, I prefer lighter, fun classes where you’ll feel comfortable expressing yourself however you want, while always focusing on your results. With me, you’ll understand that it’s okay to make mistakes because they are part of the learning process, and I’m here to help you correct them. I want you to become more confident in speaking Portuguese! Additionally, I love talking about Brazilian culture and history, and I also dedicate a lot of attention to grammar and pronunciation. Carla is an excellent conversation tutor! She can always figure out what the heck you are trying to say, even when you've long since forgotten what the jumbled mess of Portuguese coming out of your mouth was even supposed to be communicating. She provides lots of feedback on errors and words you don't know, but the conversation does not stop and you don't feel bad for making a mistake.
I would highly recommend her as a conversation tutor! Run, don't walk, to book a lesson with her!

Carla is amazing, she's super energetic and funny, we could have been talking for hours, knows a lot about the Portuguese language, and cared to correct my mistakes in a non-invasive way. I will definitely be taking more lessons with her.
