🪷 Polite vs. Casual Korean 🇰🇷 Hi everyone, Want to sound polite in Korean? Just add “요 [yo]” at the end of your sentence! ✨ Here’s how it changes the tone 👇 For example: • “고마워요” → “Thanks (polite).” • “이거 좋아요” → “I like this.” • “사과가 있어요” → “There is an apple.” Adding “요” makes your sentence sound polite and respectful — perfect when talking to someone older, you’re not close with, or in a formal setting 💫 Casual speech is great for friends or people your age 🌿

As the weather gets cold, more and more people around me tend to stay home after work. Stay home, stay warm. The restaurants along the both sides of the streets close earlier than before. I can't see the scene that crowded people sat out of the restaurants and enjoyed beers and a variety of grilled food in summer. The quiet streets always give me a lonely feeling which makes me bundle up and hurry up home. You may say that this is a really boring season, but there are still alot of fun waiting for you. When I open my apartment door, a warm wind suddenly blows through my face that helps me dispel all the coldness. The heat keeps my home in a comfortable temperature. The other interesting suprise is a hot pot. A cold day won't be complete without a tasty meal, and nothing can be better than a hot pot. When the steam from the pot rises up to the ceiling, it's no longer a cold day, it's a day as warm as a summer day! I just ate hot pot yesterday.So, how about today?

When you're having a face to face conversation with someone you don't want to make them do all the work to try to 'figure out what you're trying to say.' You want a clear, flowing, natural conversation with someone. You want to learn what to say and how to say it. And chances are if you're talking with a friend or family member or coworker they aren't going to directly tell you that they didn't understand you completely. You most likely have never been told exactly what you say wrong. Most students have no idea. They know they struggle but they've never actually been told if it's pronunciation or vocabulary or sentence structure. They have never really had someone from the United States really listen to all the sounds that come out of their mouth and watch what their mouth does (If it moves much or not.) Most students are taught that pronunciation isn't important.... then they wonder why they still have such a strong accent that sounds nothing at all like American English. Here are a few ways that I can help you improve your spoken American English so you sound more clear and understandable to native English speakers. That way when you speak to someone they don't have to depend on context which can lead to confusion and mis understanding. I could have a conversation with you and point out either your pronunciation mistakes or your sentence structure mistakes depending on which you choose or you can choose to get corrections on both. You would get typed and verbal corrections from me. I could teach you pronunciation skills. For example how to pronounce short vowels, long vowels and more. I could also help you learn phrasal verbs (most students know and use some but they don't know or use many of them). Prepositions (many students forget to use these or don't use the right one. Who wants to teach me Spanish???

Yesterday, my parents came to my house. I was very happy because I had not seen them for a while. That day, I was off from work, so I had time to spend with them. They came to bring me my winter clothes because the weather is getting colder these days. They were very kind and also brought me some groceries, like rice, vegetables, and snacks. I really appreciated their kindness and felt very loved.In the evening, we went to my workplace to eat dinner. My parents said the food looked and tasted delicious. I was glad to see them enjoy the meal. When we finished eating, my manager kindly gave us a discount. I was surprised and thankful for that.When my parents were leaving, I felt very lonely and sad. I wished they could stay longer. I really want to see them again soon. Spending time with family always makes me feel warm and happy.
