Learn Korean with Korean Food #3 – Tteok-galbi (떡갈비) Have you ever heard of Tteok-galbi (떡갈비)? Many people think Tteok-galbi contains rice cake because of its name. Surprisingly, it usually doesn't! Tteok-galbi is a Korean dish made from minced beef or pork mixed with seasonings such as soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil, and green onions. The meat is shaped like a patty and grilled until it's juicy and flavorful. The name "tteok" (떡) comes from the soft texture of the meat, not because it contains rice cake. It is one of my favorite Korean dishes because it is tender, sweet, and easy to enjoy with a bowl of warm rice. Korean Words 떡갈비 (Tteok-galbi) = Korean grilled minced meat 고기 (Gogi) = Meat 맛있어요 (Masisseoyo) = It's delicious. 부드러워요 (Budeureowoyo) = It's soft / tender. When I eat Tteok-galbi, I always enjoy it with warm rice and kimchi. It's one of my favorite comfort meals! Have you ever tried Tteok-galbi? Or would you like to try it someday?

Today, I woke up and finished my homework. Later, I am going to watch the Mrs. Green Apple live viewing. In the end, I lost every ticket lottery and could not get a first-come, first-served ticket, so I could not go to the actual concert. 😭 After I get home, I have to finish the rest of my homework. I think I will be very busy this week, so I probably will not get much sleep.

I just got back home from the gym. I trained my legs and back today. I am so tired, and my back is really pumped now. The gym was empty, so I was very happy. I am going to eat some carbohydrates and then go to sleep. Sleep is important for both my brain and my muscles.

Today, I cleaned my room and worked on my homework. First, I organized my desk, put away my clothes, and made my room look neat and tidy. After that, I spent time studying and finished my assignments. Some of the homework was a little difficult, but I kept working until I completed it. I felt satisfied because I had a productive day and finished everything I planned to do.

Yesterday I went into a cave during my glamping trip. It was very cool and a little dark, but it was exciting. At night we had a barbecue. We ate beef, scallops, and sausages. Everything was very delicious. We talked a lot and had a great time together. It was a very fun day and I was very happy.

I'm going to the gym this morning, and then I'm going out with some friends. I don't have any specific plans, so I think I'll just go for a walk. It's started raining a little now, which worries me, but if it gets heavier, I'll just pop into a shop somewhere. I haven't eaten much since this morning, so I'd like to grab something to eat.

Today, I woke up late because it was Sunday. I was happy to relax after a busy week. I cleaned my room, did some laundry, and enjoyed a quiet morning. In the afternoon, I watched some videos and took a break. It was a peaceful day, and I felt refreshed. I hope to have another good week and do my best at university.

English isn't my first language and I'm at an intermediate level. I've noticed something frustrating. When I'm reading or listening, I recognize lots of words. But when I actually start speaking, those words disappear from my mind. I end up using the same simple vocabulary over and over, even though I know more than that. Does anyone else have this?
