English Conversation for  Intermediate Students

Language Arts 1 equips students with classroom and subject-based vocabulary, phrases, and lexical chunks that empower them to excel in language arts classes.
The six units included in this release are:

Language Arts-For Teenagers & Adults

This is a four-skills course for adult and young learners who are looking to improve their ability to communicate in English. This course is for upper intermediate students of English. This course is for students who have been exposed to a wide range of foundational structures and language function of English. This course will take students to the end-point of B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

English Conversation for Upper Intermediate Students

This is a four-skills course for adult and young learners who are looking to improve their ability to communicate in English. This course is for true-beginner students of English. This course is for students who have no or limited knowledge of English to the use and understanding of everyday expressions, structures, and phrases that allow students to meet their basic needs. This course will enable students to interact in a simple way with others using English.

English Conversation for Beginners

This is a multi-level business English course for businesspeople and students of business English. If you are in business, the course will greatly improve your ability to communicate in English in a wide range of business situations. If you are a student of business, the course will develop the communication skills you need to succeed in business and will enlarge your knowledge of the business world. This course will help to develop your fluency and confidence in using the language of business and should increase your career prospects!

Business English (Pre-Intermediate)

Practice answering IELTS speaking test questions. I use only the most recent questions actually used in IELTS tests around the world for the most accurate and current test experience. Grammar, vocabulary, intonation and inflection correction and advise are offered so you are well-prepared and confident to take the test.

We repeatedly practice all three sections of the speaking test with a new set of questions each time:

Part 1 - Interview Questions:
This section is usually simple "interview style" questions about you but the questions here can abruptly change to completely unrelated topics to test your comprehension and composure. This is where the interviewer gets an idea of your level of English.

Part 2 - Topic Question:
This is the timed "long turn" section. You are given a cue card with the topic printed on it. The card usually has 2-4 questions about the topic. You have one minute to prepare and up to three minutes to present your answer. If you take too longer to answer all the questions, I teach you simple but effective strategies to ensure you answer all the questions first before your time runs out.

Part 3 - General Discussion Questions.
This section is usually follow up questions related to the topic on the cue card. This is where you can best demonstrate your ability to use complex language.

Because I know how much depends on the outcome of this test, I take very seriously the responsibility to help you reach the band score you need. I have successfully guided many students to achieve the band score they need and you can feel confident that you will be prepared going into the IELTS Test with the support and guidance of a qualified, professional ESL teacher.

IELTS Speaking Test Practice & Guidance

This was 12 week course which developed my skills and knowledge of teaching ESL to ESL adult learners. I wrote, developed material and taught 12 adult classes under the observation of two course tutors and fellow course candidates. I also completed 4 written assignments-focusing on the learner, language related tasks, skills related tasks, lessons from the classroom. It enables me to apply for a DELTA qualification.

The aim of the IH COLT course is to train tutors in techniques and approaches to online tutoring for both student-oriented and teacher-oriented courses in Virtual Learning Environments. The course focuses on the demands of the asynchronous environments and how this is different from face-to-face teaching. In addition, the course looks at the various ways synchronous tools can be used for teaching face to face online.

I received a merit classification for my master's course in TESOL through the University of Sunderland. It was an online taught, 18 month course, which comprised of assignments, examinations and a final dissertation. My dissertation focused on "Teacher's Perspectives on the Teaching of Western Culture in the Korean EFL Context".

This was a 3 year course that covered contemporary and historical issues in politics and history. The two  areas of study were taught as one discipline. Units covered included Arab and Israeli Conflict, the British Labour Party, UK/US Politics and the history and politics of Northern Ireland.

Responsible for creating effective lesson plans and teaching to ESL learners. The courses I have taught include conversation English, English for business and Media English.
