In this trial lesson, we will introduce ourselves, talk about why you're learning English, the types of lessons you can take, etc. Then, we'll have a demo class. After that, I may send you some videos to watch.

Introduction: Welcome to the "Read an Article" lesson! In this lesson, you will have the opportunity to practice your reading skills, expand your vocabulary, and improve your pronunciation. 

Step 1: Article Selection
For A2-B1 students, we will be using the website https://newsforkids.net/ which provides interesting and age-appropriate news articles. B1-C2 students will have access to https://newsela.com/, a platform that offers articles at various reading levels to suit your proficiency. Select an article that interests you and make sure it is appropriate for your language level.

Step 2: Reading and Note-Taking
During the lesson, you will read the chosen article aloud while I listen attentively. As you read, I will type comments on Skype or in a shared document. These notes will help me identify areas for improvement in your pronunciation and comprehension.

Step 3: Pronunciation Practice
After you finish reading the article, we will focus on pronunciation. We will work together to correct any mispronunciations and ensure that you pronounce words accurately. To aid in this process, I will use phonetic symbols (/ˈsɪmblz/) to explain the correct pronunciation.

→ I will also write corrections in chat while you speak, and I will make suggestions about pronunciation, word choice, and grammar.

Read an article & discuss it with me!

Objective: To improve speaking skills and fluency through free conversation or specific topic discussions. ヾ(＾∇＾) 

Option 1: Open Conversation
In this option, we have complete freedom to discuss any topic of interest. You can choose a topic or simply let the conversation flow naturally. We can talk about your hobbies, current events, travel experiences, or any other subject you wish to talk about. The focus will be on maintaining a conversation, expressing your ideas clearly, and improving your overall speaking skills.

Option 2: Specific Topic Discussion
If you prefer a structured approach, we can select a topic from the list of conversation topics available at http://iteslj.org/questions/. You can browse through the list and choose a topic that appeals to you. This lesson will help you to gain confidence and fluency in a particular subject while practicing vocabulary, grammar, and language fluency.

Custom Lesson

This is something you can use with any language. It's best to focus on 1 topic with a tutor. It's important to really "exhaust" the topic. For example, if you talk about the weather, talk about everything about the weather. Prepare for the lesson by learning vocabulary related to the topic, and then you try to talk about it for the entire session. If you pick "weather," you would talk about the weather today, the weather tomorrow and yesterday, the weather on vacation, how it's normally in May or December, how it's normally in Europe, the weather where you live, etc., and by the end of the session, you'll be very good at this topic, and you'll be able to express yourself just like any other native speaker.
