Having a salaried job is better than being self-employed.
To what extent do you agree?
It is sometimes said that getting paid as an employee has more advantages than owning a business. I somewhat agree with this statement in terms of stable income, fringe benefits and opportunities for growth although businessowners enjoy independence and tax benefits.
Working for a company ensure stability. Stable salary revenue makes it easy for people to manage monthly living expenses, such as rent, food and utilities. In addition, various benefits come with a corporate job, including health insurance and paid leaves. These days, more and more companies focus on employees' well-being. Lastly, people can get valuable experience. Work in a company often involves large budget and broad connection to other businesses, which will enhance people's carrer prospects.
On the contrary, being self-employed has its own benefits. First, business owners make decisions at will. There is no need to get approval from managers or board directors. This means people can pursue what they want to do, keeping motivation high. Additionally, proprietorship can take advantage of tax deduction. Many types of expenses around a business owner are considered for the business, including a car, an office, a PC, a mobile, clothes and meetings. These costs can offset revenue, reducing their tax burden.
To summarise, although both employment status have different advantages, I think salaried jobs are partly better than being self-employed because the former involves wider benefits and stability.
