What makes us special? Well we weren't created in a lab by a bunch of scientists. My cat isn't made of "electronic components". Robots would still be artificial, man-made, fake, put it however you like, but I don't think that something artificially created by humans can ever be as good as an actual living organism. And I mean think of who you are and how you would define yourself as a human being, you're a lot more than just something that sees, hears, understands things and can respond to commands, right? I mean I can't clearly explain what I mean but I hope it kind of makes sense haha.

That they're not living beings, aren't they? So they have no emotions and can feel no pain. It seems pretty obvious to me that no, we shouldn't. What for, anyway?

Well robots aren't human, no matter how similar to us they appear. I think we should start by treating all people and animals as equals, then we'll see about man-made objects.

Of course, but our personnality is made of experiences. If a robot would have the same experiences, if it has the same brain functions, it will have what you call "emotions", complexes associations of behaviors.
