We are indifferent to most people.
"Like" is a preference. There are few we like in out life who are a part of our "monkeysphere".

Love is a word of much more meaning, depicting a much higher level of endearment and bonding, where you can place the interest of that person and their life, above and beyond your own.

I think a basic form of this is channelised to our parents and siblings and code friends, etc.

But the ultimate expression of live is when we desire and want to make love to someone. This is at completely another level as we don't hold these feeling for other people in our lives like say, even our siblings and parents. This is reserved for that one person alone.
(Sex is something else, its like assisted masturbation…)

That is why in relationship culture what i find mist irritating, when people are constantly having breakups and then find a new person and then tell you "How this new person is the love of their life, completely surpassing their old love. THey never felt like this with their other exes. They have found love to be a kind of revelation with this person, and after a couple of moths or a year later they will spew the same garbage with someone else, and i would be thinking " Seriously, do you have absolutely no respect for my intellect…o.O!"

I think people don't have the patiences for love, nowadays.

To be fond of someone or something is to quiet "Like" it. The same word also means to be pleased with. "Love" to be very fond of, to like someone or something very much.

To like someone means you enjoy spending time with that person. To love someone means you will do almost anything to make sure they are well and happy. Although, you can love and hate someone at the same time.

You can like anyone, wether it's a girl or a boy. That, in my opinion, means to like to be with them, talk to them or you just find that you like them because they suit you, or your personality. But love is far beyond hat, but you have to like a person to love them. Sometimes, love is unconditional, sometimes blind, but love in the end means to accept that persons virtues and vices, no matter what they are, and just enjoy every moment with them and cherish it.
