GROUP LESSONS/SHARE COSTS

Hello to iTalki students! Hello to those I already teach. Usually I teach English to individual students. Would students be interested in getting together in pairs or small groups for lessons?  We would all meet on Skype in a conference call. It's just an idea. The best numbers are two or four students in a class... because some activities need pair work! Really it would be a CLASSROOM ONLINE. I know individual tutoring is often best... but being in a class with others can be great fun, and students often are brilliant at supporting each other. And you can help each other with homework. But it's just an idea of mine. And it would be UP TO YOU to form the pair, or the group. What do you think? Possible? Financially sensible?

The Hindi and Tamil are in case I retire to southern India, by the sea. The Portuguese is for Brazil, on the beach. I'm also having singing lessons (for karaoke in a bar in Benidorm, Spain), flying lessons (to overcome my fear of heights), swimming lessons to become a mermaid, and Western riding lessons to try to stop being an English riding-style control freak,

The flying lessons are not working. I'm a good pilot, but I still am scared of heights.

This morning I went tank driving, next week it's hovercrafting. The week after it's Scotland to meet a friend who wants to retire to Mexico - so maybe I'm learning the wrong languages! While I'm up there she wants to go parachuting - but I told her that I'd fly the plane but I ain't gonna jump out of it!

I really don't have time to teach much. How about you?

Interesting idea. I don't do instant tutoring as my regular students keep me busy... but perhaps regular sessions with a group would work. Organizing the group might be difficult though.

Hi Madam,

Your idea is attractive.I think italki should support 1-2, 1-3 instant tutoring service. The price is lower than 1-1. The bidding time is 30 minutes, maybe set by the teacher.

If the count of bidding people is to the limit, the bidding is over and session starts.

It's a cheap way to practice speaking and also don't have an impact on teacher's total income. It's the idea behind group buying.

Regards

Bill

Good idea! I think tutoring a group of students, may be two or four students will be easier, cheaper for them, and more beneficial in the coversation section. Additionally, this will encourage them to study together and share many discussions after the session.

I am in a group of people in skype and we often make voice calls! But I think is not very useful to improve english skills if you have a low level, because the accent is very strange! It's better to talk with native peopele, I think is more easier than talk with other accents
