The key to learning a new language, in my experience, is a lot of exposure to understandable, interesting, and authentic materials. And I mean A LOT!
There's just one small problem: most beginners can't find understandable, authentic materials.
What should I do then? you might ask.
Here's the answer: Graded-Readers series (ta-da)!
-What are Graded Readers?
Graded Readers are simplified and shortened versions of classics and popular works of literature. They are usually divided into 7 levels of difficulty, from beginners to advanced.
-Where can I find Graded Readers?
There are many options available. Some of the best universities in the world have been publishing Graded Readers for years.
I highly recommend the Oxford Bookworms series. Cambridge Readers, Penguin Readers, and Macmillan Readers are also great.
I attached covers of some of my favorite graded readers from the Oxford Bookworms series.
PS: I'm not a native speaker of English, so I appreciate it if you could correct any mistakes I may have made.
I'll post more tips soon.
