Tense use can be tricky, but there's one very simple rule here: When you mention a past time ('last summer'), we NEVER use a present perfect ('have visited'). To the native-speaker ear, this is like mixing oil and water - they just don't go together. To make a simple sentence telling us when you visited a certain place you say: I visited this place last summer.

"I have visited this place last summer" - no. You don't put a past time with present perfect. "I visited this place last summer" - yes. Past simple verb, plus a past time (last summer). "I had visited this place last summer." - tricky. If you don't know the difference between past simple (visited) and present perfect (have visited), then there's no point in me explaining past perfect (had visited) to you. However, it's very easy to find explanations and exercises for these grammar forms online.
