What's the difference between tajar, cortar y picar?

just stumbling through cooking vocabulary to prepare new learning material.
Can you maybe explain the difference between tajar, cortar and picar to me?
They are all listed as "to chop". For cortar there's also a "cortar a cubitos" listed (chop in dices).

Thanks a bunch!Maybe you can also tell me the correct use of "la olla" and "la cacerola". As far as I can see it, both are pots for cooking ?_?

* Tajar: Se usa cuando sacamos punta a un lápiz.(sharpen a pencil)

* Cortar: Cuando divides en dos o más partes algo ( for example, cut a paper)

Según mi mujer, olla y cacerola son distintas: la primera es honda, mientras que la segunda tiene menos profundidad.

Tajar y cortar son sinónimos: dividir algo en partes con alguna herramienta cortante.

Picar es distinto: cortar en trozos pequeños.

Yo pensaba que olla y cacerola eran lo mismo, pero, según la definición del diccionario de la RAE la cacerola es un recipiente cilíndrico con asas mientras que la olla "forma barriga", es decir, sus paredes no forman un cilindro sino que son curvas, y también tiene asas.
