If you are looking for articles I warmly recommend you: http://8sidor.se/ The website contains rather easy articles about everyday life. You even can listen to them, although the quality is not that good (computer voice).
If you are looking for books, the first book I read was namend "flicka försvunn". it was tiny but very, very tense. Despite that you can always look for "Anka Kalle" - "Ente Kalle (Donald)", which are Donald Duck etc. comics.. It's very easy to understand.
