Hi Shawn,
The rules for the separable verb wakkerworden.
Compound verbs like these are separated when you use them in present or simple past. The 'core' verb takes the second position in the sentence, while the extra part, the prefix, is taken off and placed in the last position in the sentence.
In this case: wakkerworden = wakker + worden. Worden is the 'core' verb, and wakker is the 'prefix' that goes to the end of the sentence. --> ik word om acht uur wakker.
In the perfect tense you use a form of hebben / zijn and follow the formula prefix+past participle of the core verb, glued together: wakkergeworden. This participle is placed at the end of the sentence. --> ik ben om acht uur wakkergeworden.
If you use auxiliary verbs with them, like willen, zullen, mogen, moeten, kunnen, then the aux verb takes second position and full verb (infinitive) of the compound verb takes last position: --> ik kan om acht uur wakkerworden. Ik zou om acht uur wakkerworden.
