I don't understand these sentences. I have been watching a TV play(Takin Over The Asylum)without Chinese subtitle...there are a few lines I can't understand. 1.White, Never-Paint Weatherbeater, work to begin Monday week.————I didn't find the word Weatherbeater in dictionary... 2.They prescribed about L6000 worth of major tranquillisers.————L6000 worth?? Thank you! BTW, is there anyone who is the fan of DAVID TENNANT's :)

Weatherbeater is a name brand of paint sold by Sears stores in the United States. It is an exterior latex paint, and the idea is that it is strong enough to stand up against the weather outside and still look nice. L6000, does the L look strange? Because a strangely shaped L is what is used as a sign signifying British Pounds Sterling, just like the dollar sign $ is a strange looking S :-) In the US where we don't have a pounds sterling L on our keyboards we use a capital L as an abbreviation that doesn't quite work.
