Is it correct? Is it the correct way to use this phrasal verb 'make out': I can't make out your handwriting. It is difficult to make out faces in this photo. Can you give me more examples with it? And maybe with a different meaning that is used often. Because there are to many translations in a dictionary and I'm not sure which meaning of this phrasal verb is used regularly and which is rarely.

Both sentences are perfect. A couple might also "make out" - a term that is used regularly.

Yep, that's perfect! Another example: "I can just about make out the words in this recording." Here are a few other definitions: To kiss in a sexual way. "Sarah made out with her boyfriend." Writing a cheque. (Where I am we don't write cheques anymore, but it might still be useful in the USA.) "He made out a cheque in her name." To make it seem like something is a certain way. "He made her out to be a slut." "He made it out to be a lot harder than it was."
