NIGHTMARY
I ask this silly question but Frozen_Scud has the guilt... Why do round pizzas come in square boxes? Why most of sewer manholes are round? Why all the round things are round and square are square? More Additional Details: If you have some complaint about these absurd questions please, contact this profile: http://www.italki.com/T006017734.htm

A circle is the most material efficient shape. Round pizza = less pizza = savings. The square box is an inefficient design so that it looks like a good deal. A round manhole cover cannot fall through the hole, whereas a square cover can. And round shapes/tunnels are stronger, efficient. Roundness or curves are aesthetically pleasing. Square or blocky shapes can represent power, an imposing authority, excess....

1. For diversity 2. Homeless people to not hide around corners 3. Not all the round things are round and square are square. An ex. could be the flat discussions at roundtable on TV : "can we named a round-table with so many squared heads around it?"

1. Until you open the box, the pizza is a triangle with a hole in the middle 2. Because a man is more round-shaped than square-shaped 3. Maybe a square isn't really a square, it's a circle with corners, or a frustrated parallelogram

1st easyer to take out the pizza from square box. 2nd try cutting square and circle shapes. In what case you would be left with less unused material? Though you may find square pizzas too.
