Nicole is always helpful, punctual, patient, and kind. She remembers all kinds of details of our past lessons and knows which words I know (or should know!) and which words will be new.

Nicole is a very intuitive teacher with the patience and ability to adapt to different learning styles. It is always a positive experience to spend time with Nicole!

I'm always impressed with Nicole's openness, friendliness, and ability to clearly explain the nuances of both Mandarin and Cantonese, as well as how they relate to English words when further clarification is needed. Even 90-minute classes always fly by very quickly with Nicole!

Today we did some work from an HSK book and Nicole made sure to point out key vocabulary and grammatical structure used in each text. Her explanations were conducive to my understanding and acquisition of those key points!

Nicole really is the best tutor. Well-prepared, patient, intuitive, and good at explaining things. Over the past year, she has adjusted her teaching approach based on my learning goals as well as my life busy-ness, as we have gone through listening exercises and recordings, homework, and conversation practice. In all of it, she has calibrated her lessons to the perfect balance of comfort and challenge. And I can tell she cares about her students and takes an interest in their lives. Cantonese is a hard language and for me, it comes with a lot of personal baggage. The learning process can be sensitive and discouraging without the right tutor, and I've gone through numerous unproductive sessions with other tutors. Nicole really has made it fun, engaging, and most importantly, my Cantonese has improved with her. I can't recommend her highly enough!
