Hello! My name is Maryna. I come from Crimea, which is located in the south of Ukraine. I have been living in Montreal since June 2022. I worked for almost 10 years in Middle Eastern airlines in the hospitality sector. Currently, I teach Russian online. I enjoy hiking and cooking in my free time. I see my profession as a way to communicate with people, exchange our views and thoughts, discover new worlds, and become a more fulfilled and tolerant personality.
My short-term goals would be to provide my learners with practical vocabulary and grammar as well as a lot of speaking practice. I see my long-term goals as a self-discovery journey for my students and myself through the lens of learning a new language. I want my students to understand their learning styles, tastes, and preferences in life and develop enthusiasm for prioritizing and achieving their life goals as well.レッスン形式・教え方
In my lessons, I follow the principle “Learn a little, practice it a lot”. I let my students talk 80% of the time during the lesson. The remaining 20% I devote to teaching and presenting instructions. Such a structure of a lesson helps me make Comprehensible Input so that learners gain new knowledge while having plenty of opportunities to practice, make mistakes, acquire new concepts, and gain confidence at the end of the process. My teaching style is based on the concepts derived from the Communicative approach (1980) as well as the Audio-Lingual (1940) and the Comprehension (1980) approaches.教材

Maryna speaks fluently in English and Russian, and Ukrainian to boot, seamlessly in a way which facilitates learning and exhausts the mind. Do not sign up if you are not serious about learning. Maryna is an excellent teacher. Our first lesson was wonderfully planned out and executed. We covered quite a number of important topics in one hour. She is a friendly and caring individual. I am so glad we met. Thank you. Most of all, I appreciate how she tailors the lesson to my pace and we learn the material at a pace I can understand and that I am comfortable with. It really helps me to grasp concepts better.

I had my trial with Maryna today and was very impressed! She was able to speak at the level I understand, help me with any vocabulary I didn’t know and had a wonderfully laid out lesson plan. I am looking forward to my next lesson with her!
