Rebecca van Duyn

It was my first lesson on Italki, and Rebecca made me feel welcome! She was clear on how she conducts her classes and how we could build a plan for my English improvement. I am excited to study and get better and better with her!

I have been improving my English with Rebecca for over two years now and I constantly enjoy her lessons. Rebecca is very friendly, and very easy to talk to. She always tries to accommodate my individual needs and comes up with conversation topics herself or (by agreement) we focus on grammar where I have weaknesses.

I had more than a hundred classes with Rebecca on scientific editing and proofreading of my scientific articles in the fields of astronomy, physics and engineering. On my last article, we spent dozens of classes, we had 3 loops of editing. Finally, the article successfully passed through the English language edition board of the well-known magazine Photonics MDPI (Impact Factor: 2.4, 2022) with only 2 small remarks, and it was published. I may recommend Rebecca not only as a general English teacher but also as a teacher for specific purposes such as scientific editing.

Rebecca is an amazing teacher. Even though we only had one lesson, I received a wealth of useful information and practical advice. The class was very structured, with clear goals, a well-thought-out plan, and high-quality materials. I'm so glad I found such a caring and professional teacher. I'll definitely continue studying with her.
