My name is Esther, I'm a certified English teacher, and in 2019 I started tutoring French. I've lived in different countries (France, Spain, UK, Canada, India, Germany, currently Sweden) and I'm passionate about languages.

I'm patient and supportive. I do know that mistakes are part of the process and I offer a humane approach. I like to have a friendly relationship with my students as long as there's mutual respect.

POLICY
Italki doesn't allow less than 24h cancellations but I forgive 2/year because I know that sometimes things happen (sickness, emergency) but I cannot allow more as an hour not taught is an hour not paid.

I organize my lessons according to your needs, the level you want to reach or the structures you want to review. I use a variety of materials (lessons, articles, podcasts, videos, songs...) and techniques (learn by doing, learn by repetition...).
To give you an idea, my students starting French from scratch reach a CONVERSATIONAL LEVEL after around 7-8 months PROVIDED they take 1h class per week and are willing to do some homework. Usually count in average 30 hours of regular lessons to reach a full A2. And bear in mind that regularity is more important than quantity!教材

She is the best teacher and I feel like I have learned more in a few months with Esther than I have in years of studying French in school/using other applications. She’s wonderful, so kind, incredibly motivating and encouraging, and I genuinely enjoy every second of my lessons with her. The time absolutely FLIES and I look forward to them every week! I have to wake up at 430am my time for the lessons and I am SO excited and happy to do so every time.

I have had around 10 classes with Esther for French. Esther is clearly experienced as both a conversation partner and a professional language tutor. She is patient, attentive, flexible and knowledgeable. She provides a helpful amount of error correction which enables me to identify my weak areas and she is comfortable asking for clarification when I am not expressing myself clearly. Plus, I appreciate the effort she puts in writing out vocabulary and corrected sentences for me to study after class. She is also very capable in my first language (english) which is really helpful for some of my learning needs. Thank you Esther!
