Learning Danish is a challenge - but more interesting and fun with a good guide I taught over 6000 online lessons in Danish, one-on-one. I started teaching online 10 years ago. Before then, I was teaching English (one-on-one) in China. I passed a lot of long and short courses in teaching and studying techniques. I am supportive and patient, and very understanding, because I study a language myself :) With a well prepared student we change activity every 5 - 10 minutes. I give help with efficient studying techniques. I teach adults :)

I teach by seeking out the specific goals and interests of my students, so they get to talk about all the things that matter the most to them. A common dogma between language teachers is to harshly demand that only the target language be spoken, and while practice is key, my personal experience show that clarification questions in a more comfortable tongue can go a long way in terms of actual understanding of the subject.

While I have no teaching credentials, I have great experience interacting with a lot of different people from various countries around the world. Every time I analyse some aspect of the new language, I find similarities to what I already know, and when I find these treasures, I can’t help to share them. I really love when something, which at first sight seemed very complex, to become rather simple.

Native teacher since 2018 with an MA in Danish and pedagogical training from Copenhagen University I acquired my love for Danish as well as Classical languages from my paternal grandmother, who was a Danish and History teacher for many years. At some times during my university studies, I had to study Latin on my own because very few people chose that minor. I often felt stuck and thought about quitting, but I tried to find the patience and I explored different methods in order to learn. As a person, I am very patient, and it is important for me that you feel comfortable showing me your difficulties and giving your opinion.

When a class is scheduled, it is part of my weekly plan and I get ready for it. I conduct a detailed journal of what I have been doing with my student, I write down every session, thus it is easy for me to check what we did on our past sessions. I used to teach more conventionally, meaning with my students being in the same room as me. In 2021 I started using Skype for my classes and things work out very well. I am always punctual as I respect the time my students take for our class, likewise I do appreciate if my students do the same.

I think the best way to learn a language is to have an interest in it and its' culture. I believe that teaching should have the student in focus. For me, the most important thing is that you at least reach your goals, and if you learn even more, then that's always awesome. I think it's important to find a way to incorporate your interests and make sure you reach your language goals.

Beginner friendly lessons and experienced in on-line teaching I am patient and focus on a calm and relaxed atmosphere as the best learning environment :-) Since we moved to Poland, me and my wife have been home teaching our two boys, hence I know (and love) to teach one to one.
