Certified teacher with 6 years of experience I have a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a 200-hours TEFL certificate. I’ve been a teacher for 6 years and I have experience teaching in kindergarten, elementary school, foreign language education, and teaching adults. There are so many things that I love about teaching; being creative, interacting with my students, seeing their progress, and helping them achieve their goals. I am a lifelong student myself, because as a teacher I believe it is necessary to be up-to-date, immerse myself in new topics or come up with new and creative ways to approach the same subject, because each person learns differently.

My next favorite quote connects to the last one and goes like this "the more you know the more you know you don't know" from Aristotle. Which basically means that you have to realize how much you don't know.

Self-Taught Polyglot Throughout the last five years I've taught Spanish, Dutch, German, French and English to over 250 students. Across the years I have been lucky enough to work with students from South & North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Since I'm self taught, I know exactly what it is like to be a language student. Since secondary school, I have been tutoring students in Dutch, English and German. At the moment I also work as a tutor for criminal law, looking for a place to obtain a PhD. I can easily adapt to your (language) learning needs and style. I believe that you learn the most when you're enjoying what you're doing and having fun. My lessons are conversation based; I do not teach Dutch from scratch and I do not offer a structured A to Z course. I like to keep a mixture of fun and professional, in other words that I like to keep things fun and in a positive light where a joke is definitely possible. However, when it comes down to it I am serious in my desire to teach other people some of my languages and cultures.

Traveling photographer & filmmaker that loves learning ánd teaching languages I'm quite relaxed and patient, but I will definitely challenge you enough to make sure your level goes up every class. I do think however, that it's okay to make plenty of mistakes since this is a big part of learning a new language and also from what you learn the most. So during our conversations or an exercise I will mainly let you go ahead and discuss some corrections later, instead of constantly interrupting you. The most important thing is that you get a lot of practice with the language, that speaking Dutch becomes comfortable for you and that you show progress instead of shutting down because you're striving for perfection :)
