A patient, friendly and professional Dutch teacher Characteristics that are important to mention and define me as a teacher: 1. I am patient. There is no point in rushing new grammar rules if the student(s) are lost. The student should never feel rushed. 2. I am sociable and friendly. This will make a lesson more and enjoyable for both the student and myself. I am also very interested in the student. I believe that a student learns better and quicker if the teacher shows genuine interest in the student. 3. I am creative. I have been a musician all my life. I believe there are many different and alternative ways of learning a language rather than just doing exercises from a textbook.

My native language is Dutch. Through my travels and work as a Teacher assistant, I've learned to speak English (So I know how it feels to learn a new language). Know that It's human to feel a bit scared at the beginning if you're trying something new. But I promise you this in a supportive environment. It can be fun (Pinky swear!). Since 2009, when I moved to Spain, I've been teaching private classes of English and Dutch. Furthermore, I've got labour experience as a tourist guide in Holland for international groups. And the topics of conversation are around topics that are important or interesting to you. Building your confidence in speaking the language and growing your vocabulary from Day 1! From small talk, how your day or week has been, family and friends, hobbies and personal interests to practical exercises like asking for directions, etc. All of this happens in a comfortable and non-forced setting. My classes are both fun and educational! My lessons are very personalised. I always start with getting to know you better. Especially during the trial lesson.

I like to keep a mixture of fun and professional, in other words that I like to keep things fun and in a positive light where a joke is definitely possible. However, when it comes down to it I am serious in my desire to teach other people some of my languages and cultures.

I studied science and technology at the Leeuwenborgh institute In the Netherlands and my job was training new employers to get ready for their job. In Thailand I started to teach at the local primary school of my village. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to get my TEFL certificate and did additional courses for natural learning, specially for kindergarten kids. I have experience teaching at kindergarten, primary school and secondary school as well as in business English.
