The issue of traffic and pollution which is caused by the increase in population is certainly a contentious one. Despite the agreement of some people that increasing the fuel tax can decrease traffic and pollution problems, it is my personal belief that this policy is virtually impossible and we should find another way to solve this problem. In this essay, I will illustrate the underlying reasons for my view. To begin with, it is absolutely vital that this policy is not powerful enough to reduce the traffic jams and pollution issues. The pollution is caused by the cars which are too many to stock on the roads. The traffic problem is due to the fact people love to drive their own vehicles instead of taking public transportation. One particularly salient example of this situation - is the pick time on the roads in the Taipei and New Taipei cities, people need to use their own vehicles for commuting or they will be late to work or class. Hence, the government cannot just raise tex to solve this problem, On the other hand, it cannot be denied that people need a new policy to improve their commute environment. Admittedly, increasing the tax on petrol can make some people take public transportation for commuting. However, some people have no option to fit the policy. For instance, such as these people may work or study in a suburban place which the public transportation cannot arrive; therefore, the government should spend more time and money to establish a shared bike system. With this new system, people can be encouraged to use a more convenient and ecofriendly way for commuting instead of using their vehicles which cause traffic jams and a polluted environment. In conclusion, I once again restate my view that raising the tex cannot handle the traffic and pollution problems. The government should not only constitute new policies but try to fit the citizen's needs. One hopes the future will see our cities become less traffic and pollution.

The government should not only draft new policies to tackle the traffic and pollution problem, they should also address the citizens needs. One hopes the future will see less traffic congestion and a cleaner environment in our cities. (This is the last part. I couldn't write it above)

The issue of traffic and pollution caused by the increase in population is certainly a contentious one. Despite the view of some people that increasing the fuel tax can decrease traffic and pollution problems, it is my personal belief that this policy is virtually ineffective and we should find another way(other ways) to solve this problem. In this essay, I will illustrate the underlying reasons for my view. To begin with, it is absolutely vital to understand that this policy is not comprehensive enough to reduce the traffic jams and pollution issues. The pollution is caused by having too many cars on the roads. The traffic problem is due to the fact that people love to drive their own vehicles instead of taking public transportation. One particularly salient example of this situation - is the peak time on the roads in the Taipei and New Taipei cities, people need to use their own vehicles for commuting or they will be late to work or class. Hence, the government cannot just raise taxes hoping to solve this problem. On the other hand, it cannot be denied that people need a new policy to improve their commute environment. Admittedly, increasing the tax on petrol can make some people take public transportation for commuting. However, some people have no option but to accept the policy. For instance, some people may work or study in a suburban area that is not well serviced by public transportation; therefore, the government should spend more time and money to establish a shared bike system. With this new system, people can be encouraged to use a more convenient and eco friendly way for commuting instead of using their vehicles which causes traffic jams and a polluted environment. In conclusion, I once again restate my view that raising the fuel tax will not resolve the traffic and pollution problems.## The government should not only create new policies to but try to fit the citizen's needs. One hopes the future will see our cities become less traffic and pollution.
I stopped at ## as the system did not allow me to insert any more characters. I will see if I can do another correction for the last bit.
