There are no quick and easy ways to master a language, you'll need to practice, read, talk to native speakers, ask questions, etc. And I think anybody claiming to have learnt a language just by watching a TV show is definitely lying. Watching a TV show can help you gain vocabulary, understand idiomatic expressions, slang, maybe learn about the culture (remember it's fiction in the end), help with the pronunciation, etc. It's not the be all end all to learn a language, but it can be useful. News channels, radio, YouTube vloggers and language academy's materials will all help you understand the language, but you still need to put effort into trying to learn what words mean. New vocabulary specially won't pop its meaning into your mind.

Yes, right now I am watching the telenovela Pasion y poder. It is a Mexican soap opera. They have taught me how to express myself. They also taught me word like soltar, aprovechar, superar, and just other words like that.

I've been watching Betty la Fea on youtube. It's not really an important quote but someone asked their wife "A donde vas?" and I got excited because it was a full sentence I understood. For the most part I understand a word here & there when listening. I'm a little better at reading & writing.
