Do you believe that you tend to think the same way as your parents or other relatives on most issues or do you believe that you have chosen to adopt new beliefs? If so, what beliefs have to chosen to adopt? (for issues such as how to dress, eat, or how to pick your friends)
Well, for me... I have a completely independent beliefs.. No one think for me or affect my beliefs. But you know.. there are lots of behaviours that might be gained from your family or society that would have a positive or negative effect on your beliefs. It depends on the environment in which you have been brought up and on your personality and characteristics.
I don't believe that a mind can be totally free and independent. We grew up and our ideology was made by our social circle. Even our contrary thoughts are made according to the influence of other people in our lives.
Respect every other person around you but keep your own identity.
Your mind cannot be totally isolated from the nurture of your background including education , community , family etc. However, you have to maximize your potential to achieve independent thinking as much as you can . Try to be a sensible person who would be influenced by other people and learn to conceive by yourself from what you learned , perceived , informed . I think Samuel Salles is right , no one is really free and independent. Yet , it is a challenge to your thinking while you were encountering difficulties in front of you .
Hi , Anna
I am afraid to tell the truth you have to judge by your education , environment , and perception ,although some other people around you can give you numerous advices . If you had asked such a question , I guess you had your personal concept about what you concerned . There is nothing to be absolutely should or shouldn't , while , you have to judge by your instinct plus what you learned . You are the perfect sole entity to the universe . To think to judge is essential to live well .
