Summary of my thesis. Feel free to correct!!
This thesis concerns a project to upgrade the infrastructure of railway line number 7: Klementowice - Miłocin Lubelski to international standards in which it is necessary to increase the maximum velocity applicable on this section to 160 km/h for passenger trains and to 120 km/h for freight trains.
The beginning of the thesis presents an analysis of the existing condition of the railway line, including damage to the rail surface. In addition, the construction standards of the rail surface are discussed including the requirements and technical conditions contained in the guidelines to modernization and railway line construction in Europe and Poland. The final part of the thesis provides two modernization options which are considered together with their juxtaposition and the cost comparison for each of them.
The first modernization option refers to the revitalization of the railway surface, currently existing in the analysed section. The second one, based on the interference in the current geometrical arrangement, deals with the increase in radius of the horizontal and vertical arches. Finally, having selected the best modernization variant the summarization and analysis of the proposed solutions are presented.
