give the shirt off his back
We all know about the phrase - give the shirt off his back, my question is that can we say give them the shirt off my back. Is that wrong? Does it have another meaning ?
We give them the shirts off our back - but more commonly known as, "he'd give you the shirt off his back" or, "I'd give you the shirt off my back".
And it just means to give everything, or a person is very kind and generous.
