What's the difference between prepared food and ready made food? Are these same meaning? Which word do you usually say?

Another notable mention is 'fast food'. It is in a different category than "prepared food" and "ready-made (or ready-to-eat/TV dinner) food".

In general they mean the same thing. If you go to a supermarket, they will be the same. In the USA people also say TV dinner.
