I think there's a simple way to remember how the Chinese way to describe Huge numbers:
No need to say numbers under 100, just notice that you English speakers do as make a higher grade with three zeros, such as: 1 thousand=1000, 1 million= 1000,000
But in Chinese, we use four zeros to make a further grade, such as: 1万=100*100=10,000; 10万=1000*100=100,000; 100万=100*1万=1,000,000; 1千万=1000*1万=10,000,000 :) isn't it very easy :)
