What do these sentences mean? and how to use "pretty much like that" ? So pretty much anybody that had assault rifles. (I don't know why "anybody" can be added behind "pretty much" .) that's just like, pretty much if they did the same thing here

Pretty much means almost. I live in a town where almost everyone speaks English, so "pretty much everybody speaks English" That wording is used for emphasis... meaning something is so close to universally true that it's not worth talking about the exception.
