"~려고 하다"
So I think I've been using this grammar totally wrong for the past year...
I was told that "~려고 하다" means "I'm trying to~", as in "공부하려고 하고 있어요" - I'm trying to study.
But now I'm being told that "~려고 하다" means "I'm planning to / it's about to happen" as in "공부하려고 해" I'm planning to study or "비가 오려고 해" It's about to rain
I know that 해보다 means "to try to do something/to do something and see what happens", so is it "공부해보고 있어요"? Is this the actual proper way to say "I'm trying to study"?
Can someone clarify the difference between these two grammar points and provide some examples? I'm quite confused.
