Hi Kev, Shenanigan is quite different from the other two words. Conundrum and predicament are very similar, however. 1- Shenanigan (usually used in the plural form as 'shenanigans') is a plural noun more commonly used in British English than in US English and it simply means behaviour or activities which are deceitful, dishonest or mischievous. It is most commonly used by young people to describe mischievous but light-hearted activities between friends but is also used to refer to dishonest actions of politicians or companies. -'When I was young, I used to drink a lot of alcohol and get up to all sorts of shenanigans'. (I used to get drunk and do silly/mischievous things). - 'My brother and I were so mischievous when we were younger. I don't know how my mum put up with all of our shenanigans' (I don't know how she dealt with all of our silly/foolish actions) -The politicians are back to their usual shenanigans. (The politicians are, as always, acting dishonestly). 2- Conundrum- a conundrum is a confusing or difficult problem or question. It is synonymous with the word 'challenge' or 'problem'. For example: -'Choosing the right career is a real conundrum'. (it is really difficult and challenging to choose the right career) - 'The British public was faced with a real conundrum: leave the European Union or remain?' (the choice to leave or remain in the European Union was a very difficult and confusing one). - 'I've got a real conundrum: should I wear the black shoes or the red shoes to the wedding?' (I'm really struggling to decide between the red and the black shoes). 3- Predicament- an unpleasant situation that is difficult to get out of. A predicament is something that someone or a group of people is IN. Examples: -I really need some money so I can get out of this financial predicament. (I need some money to get me out of this difficult financial situation). - I'm in a real predicament: I'm in love with two people! Hope this helps!

They are completely different. A "conundrum" is a puzzle or riddle. I've seen magazines from the late 1800s that had a section with various kinds of puzzles, and some were called "conundrums." A dictionary says it is "a riddle in which a fanciful question is answered by a pun." So, an example would be "Why can't you ever starve on a beach?" The answer would be "because of the sand, which is there." ("Because of the sandwiches there.") A "predicament" is a bad situation with no obvious way to get out of it. For example, "I've painted myself into a corner. I'm in a predicament. Either I have to stay here until the paint dries, or ruin the paint job by walking across the wet paint." "Shenanigans," usually plural in the United States, means dishonest or fraudulent acts. "The building inspector allowed the apartment to be built four feet higher than the zoning law allows, and then a few months later he was driving a new Tesla. I suspect shenanigans."
