What is the difference between 'a strong character' and 'a strong personality'? 1. His wife has a strong personality. 2. His wife has a strong character. Both sentences indicate his wife possesses distinctive qualities different from other people if I am correct. And if I am correct again, they are from either good reasoning or spirit. So what is their difference?

Character: The mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. ‘running away was not in keeping with her character’ Personality: The combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual's distinctive character. ‘she had a sunny personality that was very engaging’ They are from Lexico. It seems character is identified by spirit and bravery, while personality is identified by reasoning and attitudes. Character is from an unknown world is impossible to change, contracting with personality which can be modified by practice.

Thanks Michael. That's a long article. I don't know if I have the patience to read it. Well, I just recall something mentioned by a legendary thinker. Schopenhauer admitted that he inherited his character and will from his father and his wisdom from his mother.

Character has the meaning of “impression”. It is how people see you. Personality is your individuality, it is what reflects your mood or your actions. I’m not a professional teacher, but just keep this in mind :)

"Personality" suggests being engaging, fun and likable whereas "having good character" suggests honesty, resilience and tenacity (among other qualities). It's the difference between qualities of someone who would make a good friend and of someone considered to be competent and dependable.
