WOMEN STUDIES This research aims to present a biographical profile of the writer Waldina Dávila Ponce de León and to define the aesthetic features in his narrative production, also to place it in the Colombian literary scene. The following report is structured in four chapters. First, Waldina Davila´ biography, in which one can find relevant aspects of his live, the socio-historical and cultural context in which he lived and conceived his work. Second, one can find documents evidencing the existence of Dávila as a writer of the nineteenth century. The third chapter explores the literary production, beginning with poetry, then drama; and finally narrative, including a story and three novels; in the fourth chapter, narrative is addressed to define constant themes, aesthetic features, influences and symbolic representations. This work is part of a macro project on the work of Waldina Dávila (Masters in Literature at the Technological University of Pereira), led by Professor Carlos Alberto Castrillón, with which it hopes to contribute to the knowledge of the author from three main areas: aesthetic resources, poetry and the study of the female character. People choose their jobs carefully. they want to make an impact on the world, They want to feel useful and enjoy life as well. Personally I work because I enjoy it I have the greatest job on earth, teaching is a great experience and edverybody should try it at least once in a lifetime.

Teenagers need jobs and repsonsabilities, some parents like to spoild their children by buying them everything the want to, xbox, cellphones, video games, even cars. these teenagers grow with a sense of no responsability at all. They have never earned anything by themselves, everything has been given to them, so they can not cope with frusstration and even the slightest difficulties they face in their adult's lives can make them commite suicide or at least fall in depression. some teenagers even make good money by working and they can afford or the things their parents can not afford, so they create a budget which lets them go on vacations abroad or buy the nice stuff they like, besides by having responsabilities they can be aware of the value they bring to sociaty, by helping others and making a good use of their time.

Huma beings live in groups, we are sociable and we share and talk to one another naturally. neighbour can be beneficial to us, they are there all the time so they make an important part of one´s live. some of the characteristis of a good neighbour are first of all to be friendly, a grumpy neighbour can make one´s days miserable. on the other hand a friendly and kind neighbour can make one´s live better for example, my neighbour her name is Nelly, she is marvelous she is always there when I need her, she has a store, so when I run out of money, she sells me things on credit until I get some money. she is always there for me and the other neighbours. Some people think that neigbours are nosy and that can be true at some extend, but I think that those nosy neigbours are more efficient that a thiefs detector since they are watching over oné´s house all the time. They are a security set and they do it for free , they watch over one´s house for hours and one doesn't have to pay them for it. As a conclution, neighbours are good even if they are nosy, they are there to help us and we must be good neighbour too. besides these are the people we talk to everyday even a few words, we now all about one another even if we don't want to, ( sometimes we know more than we would like to), but anyway it is always important to have an atmosphere of kindess between neighboursl.

Why people attend universities The increase in tecnology and the possibility to take online courses as well as on campus clases has increase the number of students, these new possibilities to study a major and the many loans avaliable for it makes it now easier tan ever to enter university or collegue. Nowadays people first attent universities or collegue in order to learn about what they feel passionate about, hopping to have more quealifications and find better Jobs. Second they go to university for the experiencie, they want to meet people and learn a lot on the field they chose and third people go to collegue in order to make contacts, and acquitences that will later on in life help them. People go to universities because they really do like the field they are going to study, mathemathics, languages, arts. Whatever field they choose, they already made sure is the field they feel more passionate about, so they will enjoy learning about it. At Nariño university, there have been cases where students do not like the field they chose, once they enter to study it, but it is easy to change from one field to another one as long people realice what they really like early, usally the three first semesters are the threshold for studnts to determine whether they like it or not. So in order to learn and be at university students must like whatever they are studying, but also they feel that they will have job opportunities if they do well at university. It is common beliefe that if one goes to a good university for instance hardvar university, the more chances one will have to get a well paid job. In order to make this posible, students also get good contacts and letter of recommendation for their teachers, this helps them to have a better job and higly increases the chances to be succseful in the near future. In conclusion people go to university or collegues for many reasons, each person is different but the three commons reasons for going to university are, studying something one feels passionate about, go to university for considering it a good experiencia so they get to know people, and thirs because they can get letter of recomendation from their teacher, and meet new people that probably will help them to have a good job in the future.

Nowadays, food has become easier to prepare. Has this change improved the way people live? Food is everything we consume in order to keep ourselves alive, people from around the world have different dishes, and drinks, this gives them identity and bound their communities. fast food or to take food has changed the way we eat. it is a worrysome situation, for now we have diabetes at a much earlier age. Peolple from all over the world consume food in order to have energy, this energy is used to produce goods or offer ervices, people have a busy life now, we have to work all day long and it is little time to spend preparing food, so to go food was a good solution , for it was cheap and easy to consume and the most importat factor was it gives us energy, the energy we need to continue working. In the US obesity is at a high rate according to the healthcare service, it is worrysome for even kids have diabetes , people drifted away from home made dinners, to macdonals and coca cola, this delicios yet not healthy food can provide all the nutrients the body needs in order to function properly. Around the world in the devoleping countries, exists the same tendency, they see coca cola and macdonals on TV, so the copy the lifestyle, especially the young people. the food one cna find in these restaurants are in fact junk food, we eat it, it is tasty, but does not give the body the proper nutrients it need. but gives the body diabetes. a lot of organiations,, public and private sectos are working on campagns for people to stop eating junk food as primary food, junk food is just for once in a while. In conclusion food has becoe easier to prepare, it is no making people lives better. it has increased deseases such diabetes and obesity. many organizations are concern about this fact and hace set campaigns in order to stop these kind of lifestyle and promote better food.

For some people, going to university is just what they have to do, another prerequisite in life. for others is a life changing opoortunity, they go, learn as much as they can, make contacts, friends, meet new people and this gives them a broader picture of the world. Private university or public university the goal is the same, to take advantage of the situation, universities offer a wealth of choices for students to take, electives make the perfect excuse to meet new people, and why no a future lifetime partner. Going to universities is easy for some people, while it has proven to be very difficult for others, since it is expensive, some people travel to other cities in order to attend universities, this increases the amount of money someone has to pay monthly. accomodation, food, comute, etc. people that do not have enough money, chose to have a part time job, so they study in the day time and work at night or at the weekends. In conclusion some people have the means to go to university is just another step in life for them, while others struggle but have the desire to learn, make friends, and cchange their lifes, these people have to work part time but still enjoy it, for it offers them the life time opportunity they dreamed.
